5 Must-Try sweet and cuddly poses for a Mommy and Me Photoshoot
Updated: Aug 9, 2024
Here are some must-try poses for your next mommy and me photoshoot! These timeless poses are a blast and each session turns out wonderfully unique. I love using these poses as a foundation, then letting moms and kiddos add their own twist to them.
Back of Mom, Front of Me I adore when moms face away from the camera with their little ones facing me. I have mom have her back facing me and ask her to carry the toddler/baby on her hip or whatever way is the most natural. I move around capturing all the best angles while trying to capture the attention of the little one. Sometimes, I just let mom and kiddo have a moment. If they need a prompt, I suggest sweet eskimo kisses or a playful tickle. These moments are so sweet and can truly capture the moments between little ones and mammas!
Lap Time Cuddles and Kisses
This pose is perfect for toddlers and younger ones. Have mom sit with her child on her lap. For babies, I suggest mom smell that sweet baby scent and smile. For toddlers, encourage kisses and tickles for those adorable giggles. These moments are the absolute cutest.
Give Mom Surprise Hug or Tell a Secret This pose is a hit with older kids! Have the child take a few steps back while mom sits or stands. Then, the child runs up, gives a big hug, and whispers a funny secret. Each family adds their own twist, making this pose uniquely delightful every time.
Take a Stroll during your Mommy and Me Photoshoot For walking kiddos, holding hands and taking a stroll is perfect. Depending on their energy level, prompt the kids to pull mom and run with her, or enjoy a leisurely walk while chatting about something funny. These shots capture the joy of everyday adventures.
Sweet Nursing Moments During sessions with little ones, feeding breaks are the perfect chance to capture tender nursing moments. The most cuddliest and sweet mommy and me photoshoot are these moments. More often than not, I get asked to capture the moments before I even suggest them. I don’t need to pose this one—just find the sweetest angles and let the natural love and connection shine through.
Try these poses at your next session and let the love and connection between mom and child shine through!
