What does Christmas on the beach in the Bay Area look like? If you're thinking of floppy hats and bathing suits, think again! We all know you NEVER head to a Bay Area beach without a sweater. Did you hear me, NEVER! I learned the hard way. To be very honest with you, that is exactly what I really love about beach sessions. Sweaters with baby toes in the sand make for the most authentic, candid and playful photos. The song Sweater Weather knows what it’s talking about.
So what better way to show your friends and family a true Bay Area-style Christmas than with a “Christmas on the Beach” photoshoot?
A beach session is not only a great way to make your out-of-state family and friends envious of your California lifestyle, but it also makes for effortlessly stunning family photos. It’s perfect for letting your tots run wild and burn off some energy. Plus, if you pick the right beach, it can be surprisingly private. Davenport Beach is the perfect example!
Take Ambika’s family, for instance. She booked a regular session, but with the holidays approaching, I suggested something I’d always wanted to try—Christmas on the beach! We kept it simple: one small tree, loads of creativity, and lots of fun.
For your next holiday card, ditch the traditional Santa pics. Try bringing a tree to the beach and let the kids have fun with it! Whether they’re dragging it, running around it, or decorating it with seashells, you’ll end up with the most unique and playful holiday photos yet.
